We are committed to empowering the next wave of business leaders with a deep understanding of financial market dynamics and risk management. Our department provides two specialized career tracks, both designed to equip you with essential skills and practical experience for success in today's intricate global economy. As an undergraduate in our program, you'll gain credits toward Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) certifications. Our program leads the nation in producing University Associate Certified Risk Manager (UACRM) designees. Students also explore careers in life/health insurance, employee benefits, and financial planning. You'll participate in annual industry events like the Chicagoland Risk Forum (formerly REBEX), Surplus Lines Forum, Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana Convention, and RIMS Annual Conference. Key focus areas include: assessing individual and business risks, evaluating insurable versus uninsurable exposures, developing risk mitigation strategies, mastering life/health and property/casualty insurance principles, and managing insurer operations.
