Ball State's journalism bachelor's program offers an immersive, practical education in multimedia storytelling across platforms like print, video, audio, graphics, social media, blogs, and apps. Since journalism thrives on real-world reporting and truth-seeking, our curriculum focuses on hands-on experiences through student media groups, professional organizations, and an operational newsroom lab. Graduates emerge ready to thrive in journalism's dynamic landscape. The program covers all journalism fundamentals—writing, photography, design—while allowing specialization through four tracks: journalism graphics, magazine media, news reporting, or photojournalism. In today's media landscape, visual storytelling plays a crucial role across journalism, advertising, PR, and digital development, where compelling designs transform information into engaging, informative content.
