Courses equip students with both technical abilities and creative techniques to craft authentic narratives across platforms and connect with diverse audiences. Additionally, journalism students pursue a secondary specialization, completing three advanced courses in a non-journalism discipline to broaden their knowledge base as modern reporters require.
This journalism program establishes core competencies in writing, editing, research methods, video production, media law, and professional ethics. Through creating and delivering media projects, students master clear communication and time-sensitive teamwork. The curriculum highlights journalism's vital role in providing communities with independently verified information essential for democratic participation. Rather than focusing solely on conflict, the program encourages reporting that explores inspirational stories and potential solutions.
