The school equips students for journalism and media professions through a curriculum that combines a foundational liberal arts education with insights into press freedoms and democratic discourse, alongside core training in media practices and content creation.
Guiding the institution's approach is the belief that effective journalists and communicators need comprehensive knowledge of societal dynamics. Consequently, students develop expertise in humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences while building skills for their future media careers.
All students will be expected to have completed the pre-university curriculum (Secondary School/High School) in their country prior to enrolling at UNC-Chapel Hill. English Language Tests: TOEFL minimum is 100; IELTS minimum is 7.0; PTE minimum is 68.
