Ball State's art education bachelor's program delivers vibrant, well-rounded preparation and certification for teaching art across all grade levels. Our graduates achieve nearly perfect employment rates annually. The art education (teaching) program at Ball State equips future educators to meet modern art classroom demands. Participants obtain an Indiana K-12 art teaching credential while mastering discipline-based art instruction techniques. This approach cultivates deep subject mastery through a challenging curriculum focused on studio practice, critique, art history, and aesthetic theory. Concurrently, students refine their teaching abilities via specialized courses in art pedagogy and general instructional strategies, implementing these skills in nearby elementary, middle, and high school classrooms.
