The Master of Science program in strength and conditioning provides advanced training in human physiology and biomechanics to enhance performance capabilities among athletes, military personnel, and other active populations while reducing injury risks.

Core curriculum covers cutting-edge techniques in health monitoring, development of effective training and recovery protocols, and motivational coaching methods to push individuals toward peak performance.

Through hands-on training, students sharpen their coaching techniques and develop strategies to inspire clients to embrace the rigorous training required for performance gains.

Graduates are qualified to pursue professional certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, including credentials as Strength and Conditioning Specialists, Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitators, or Certified Performance and Sport Scientists.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the College of Health Solutions.

Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, sports science, exercise physiology, human movement, physical education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants with a bachelor's degree in another area may apply and be considered if they can demonstrate that they have experience in strength and conditioning.

Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = A) in the last 60 hours of their first bachelor's degree program, or applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = A) in an applicable master's degree program.
