The Master of Science in Psychology program, provided by the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, offers two delivery formats (on-campus or online) with varying final project choices (thesis, applied project, or capstone).
The on-campus format best suits students aiming for doctoral studies or careers requiring psychological research expertise, such as market research, educational analysis, policy evaluation, research coordination, or program assessment. This rigorous, research-focused program concludes with either a thesis or applied project. Participants develop skills in advanced research techniques, statistical analysis, grant writing, lab equipment usage, data gathering, and academic writing. They gain direct experience in research design, data interpretation, and creating presentations and publications. Students are motivated to share findings at professional conferences and contribute as co-authors in faculty-led research projects.
The online alternative provides working professionals and students with knowledge of psychological principles and research outcomes concerning human behavior, thought processes, emotions, and perspectives. The curriculum helps learners explore psychology's diverse societal roles and identify potential career paths in education, social services, corporate or nonprofit sectors, administration, or further graduate education. The online program concludes with a capstone course.
