The MS program's biology and society concentration explores how biological sciences interact with social structures.
This specialization creates customized academic paths, combining strong foundations in life sciences with interdisciplinary analytical training. Suggested coursework covers these key areas: ethical dilemmas in biology, science policy and legislation, pedagogical research in biology, environmental studies, ecological economics, and the historical/philosophical aspects of scientific inquiry.
Bioethics, policy and law --- This track prepares students to tackle complex ethical, regulatory, and legal challenges emerging from advances in bioscience and medical research.
Biology education research --- Concentrates on applying educational research methodologies to enhance teaching practices in undergraduate biology programs.
