The PhD program in learning, literacies, and technologies develops scholars capable of tackling critical educational challenges by conducting rigorous research, fostering cross-disciplinary collaborations, and implementing innovative solutions. Doctoral candidates employ diverse theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches to examine, shape, and improve educational systems and their methodologies.
From their initial semester onward, students actively participate in research projects that span the entire four-year curriculum. Working alongside faculty from various academic disciplines—both individually and in research teams—they develop robust studies, execute them in real-world environments, gather and interpret data, produce scholarly papers, and share findings through academic publications and presentations.
The program's curriculum and research emphasize investigating teaching methods, literacy development, and instructional approaches for varied student populations across different learning environments. Additionally, students explore how technology enhances education, designs effective learning spaces, and identifies optimal conditions for knowledge acquisition.
