Urban planners assist communities in making informed choices regarding land use and resource allocation. The urban planning curriculum familiarizes students with challenges encountered in cities and equips them with problem-solving techniques.
Participants in the BSP program develop skills in examining and integrating physical, social, political, and economic factors influencing urban and regional growth. The coursework includes subjects like comprehensive planning, computational and analytical approaches, public policy creation and management, socioeconomic and environmental assessments, urban design, and various other planning disciplines, including:
geospatial information systems
residential development
landscape design
planning regulations and zoning ordinances
transport infrastructure
urban economics and growth
public utilities

Have a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) (a B or better where A=4.00) from a secondary school. Some ASU programs may have higher admission or English proficiency requirements and may consider a minimum ACT or SAT score.
Must have three years of high school coursework. (If you are currently in high school, ASU needs to see 911 grade coursework. If you have completed high school, ASU needs to see 10-12 grade coursework.)
Must have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
IELTS - minimum score 6.0
TOEFL iBT - minimum score is 61.
