The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art with a sculpture specialization embraces the diverse, interdisciplinary scope of modern sculptural practice. Today's expanded view of sculpture encompasses an extensive array of media and approaches.
The curriculum explores public and site-specific works, foundry techniques, interactive and digital sculptures, neon art, metalworking, woodcraft, along with video and sound installations. Learners develop skills to situate contemporary works within sculptural traditions and the wider contemporary art landscape. Art history courses complement critical analysis, while visiting artists, curators, and critics provide firsthand professional insights.
Prospective students select their BFA concentration during ASU enrollment. Those wishing to modify their specialization after admission can consult with a School of Art academic advisor.
