The Bachelor of Arts in community advocacy and social policy centers on developing advocacy approaches by thoroughly investigating, evaluating, and contrasting social service frameworks and policies through an empowerment lens.
This program prioritizes understanding the requirements of historically marginalized groups, families, and neighborhoods. Crucial components include analyzing policies and driving societal transformation to build advocacy expertise, alongside essential focuses on prevention and community welfare. The curriculum consists of two fundamental components: studies in diversity and marginalized groups, plus coursework on societal challenges and solution strategies.
Although regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, this BA program lacks accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education as it doesn't culminate in a BSW qualification. Consequently, graduates won't meet professional licensure prerequisites, which specifically require a CSWE-accredited Bachelor of Social Work degree.
