The Bachelor of Science in Statistics offers two specialized paths: data science and mathematical statistics. The data science track caters to students passionate about practical applications, equipping them with abilities to gather, process, and leverage information for informed choices. The mathematical statistics path suits those drawn to the theoretical foundations of statistical approaches. Statistics represents the discipline of deriving conclusions from information. Information and conclusions may originate from diverse domains including commerce, legal systems, healthcare, governance, scientific research, social sciences, and all academic disciplines, yet might rely on partial data or inaccurate readings. To address these uncertainties, statistics students develop and implement quantitative methods for data acquisition, structuring, examination, explanation, and visualization. They employ statistical methodologies to identify and explore trends, create forecasting systems, and manage variations to enhance judgment quality.
