Join us in our mission to push the boundaries of mathematical discovery and education through meaningful research.
Our work focuses on developing innovative methods and practical applications that serve both the mathematics field and broader society. By collaborating with university colleagues, industry leaders, and policy makers, you'll have opportunities to share insights and establish valuable research networks. The department offers diverse research opportunities in pure and applied mathematics as well as statistics, with strong support for emerging scholars. Your academic journey will result in a thesis developed in consultation with your advisor, featuring significant original contributions. These may involve novel concepts or insightful analysis of cutting-edge mathematical developments.
Thesis progress is supported through consistent supervision meetings. Evaluation depends entirely on your final thesis, though your program typically includes six graduate courses from the MAGIC consortium.
Following your studies, you'll have a maximum of one year to complete your research documentation.
Degree conferral (PhD or MPhil) is determined by your thesis quality and performance in an oral defense examination.
