Explore poetry and intellectual traditions extensively, spanning from ancient classics to contemporary works. Adopt an intercultural perspective, prioritizing translation studies and cultural interchange as central themes in examining poetry across eras, from classical to post-colonial forms.
You'll concentrate on poetic works and their creators while emphasizing theoretical frameworks and structural elements, crafting a personalized curriculum from diverse offerings. This includes the option to participate in poetry writing workshops led by our creative writing faculty.
Guided by internationally renowned academics, the program enhances your research capabilities, which you'll apply to an independent research project. This prepares you for PhD-level study while equipping you with versatile skills for careers in education, publishing, arts administration, and media.
You'll participate in the dynamic research environment of our English Department, one of the UK's foremost centers for modern English studies, with access to various seminars, conferences, and reading groups.
