The Secondary Education PGCE is carefully structured to qualify graduates for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - the essential certification for teaching in state-maintained schools.
The Physical Education with Spanish program cultivates reflective educators capable of designing balanced PE curricula that meet students' diverse learning needs. We strive to motivate young people toward physical literacy and active lifestyles through excellent PE instruction. Additionally, you'll gain expertise in teaching Spanish as a secondary subject. Trainees will master teaching methods for both Physical Education and Spanish across the 11-16 age group, with opportunities to extend to primary and post-16 levels. Your training will combine university-based learning with practical school experience to build comprehensive teaching skills in both subjects.

To hold a first degree of a United Kingdom higher education institution or equivalent qualification

To have achieved grade C or above at A Level Spanish
To have achieved a standard equivalent to a grade 4 previously Grade C in the GCSE examinations in English and Mathematics
To have taken part in a rigorous selection process designed to assess your readiness to train to teach which will include as a minimum both an interview and audit of your subject knowledge
International students will need IELTS 6.5 with a minimum score of 6.0 in every element or equivalent.
