This program equips graduates with the qualifications and skills needed to pursue careers as Healthcare Science Practitioners specializing in cardiac physiology or respiratory and sleep science across diverse healthcare environments, from hospitals to community settings. Program highlights This accredited program merges academic learning with hands-on training, preparing students to excel as Healthcare Science Practitioners in Respiratory and Sleep Physiology. Students will gain comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and physiology, enabling them to recognize disease-related abnormalities. The curriculum covers operation of specialized diagnostic equipment, analysis of clinical data, and interpretation of test results for treatment planning. Practical experience is acquired through university-arranged clinical placements and our on-campus skills lab. Maintaining high professional standards is emphasized throughout the work-based training, with opportunities to develop research capabilities for advancing practice in your specialization. We're committed to training patient-focused Healthcare Science Practitioners. Graduates will qualify for positions as Respiratory and Sleep Physiologists and be eligible for registration with the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS).
All students being accepted onto the course will need to have been selected for a hospital placement through selection interviews which involve a formal skills-based assessment prior to admission
We are able to consider entry to Level 5 only
GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4+ will be required. No equivalences are accepted.
 
IELTS: Overall Score of 6.0 with no component less than 5.5; TOEFL: Overall Score of 60 with no component score less than 20; Pearson Test of English: Overall Score of 59 with no component score less than 59.
