The BSc (Hons) Cardiac Physiology program adheres to the National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS) curriculum, preparing future healthcare science professionals in cardiac physiology specialization. Utilizing a blended learning model with a focus on distance education, the program first covers core principles of professional practice, physiology, and cardiovascular/respiratory sciences. Students then advance their knowledge by studying disease pathophysiology in cardiac and respiratory systems, along with contemporary diagnostic techniques. Upon completion, graduates will be proficient in conducting and interpreting various clinical assessments such as 12-lead ECGs, ambulatory ECG monitoring, non-invasive blood pressure measurements, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and exercise stress tests. The training also equips students to work in invasive settings involving cardiac catheterization and pacemaker implantation procedures, while providing exposure to specialized non-invasive methods like echocardiography. The curriculum includes six weeks of on-site clinical simulation training, with one week per semester, plus mandatory clinical placements in cardiology departments totaling at least 50 weeks throughout the three-year degree.
