Why select this Fine Art course? It encompasses painting, sculpture, printmaking, conceptual and social practice, along with film, video, photography, performance, and installation. Each discipline benefits from dedicated tutors and specialized facilities. Our Fine Art program is housed in the George Wallis building, constructed in 1970, though Wolverhampton's Art School tradition dates back to 1851—a legacy we take great pride in. The recently renovated studios on the 6th and 7th floors, updated for British Art Show 9, provide individual workspaces within a dynamic community of artists. Here, you can experiment with ideas and explore motivations, media, and processes while developing your unique artistic themes. Our active studio environment serves as a foundation for increasingly independent and personalized learning. What to expect from the course The Fine Art program emphasizes open-ended, practice-driven learning, guiding students from conceptual development to studio production techniques. It blends hands-on, material-based practice with critical and contextual inquiry, helping you build a sustainable artistic career while gaining transferable skills for creative industries. Throughout the program, you'll collaborate with practicing artists and researchers who teach within their specialties.
