The BA (Hons) Fine Art program offers a studio-focused curriculum designed to prepare students for professional careers as artists and arts practitioners. Through this course, learners critically examine current trends and techniques in modern fine art, challenging their artistic vision and conceptual thinking. Taught by practicing artists immersed in today's art scene, the program fosters exploration of societal, political, and communal influences to help students develop individualized study paths that extend beyond graduation. With diverse teaching methods, state-of-the-art facilities, and numerous opportunities, students gain versatile skills enabling them to either specialize or adopt a multifaceted approach to artistic creation. This rich educational environment cultivates a unique community of artists who critically examine various studio practices and external projects. Participants can expand their artistic horizons internationally through exchange programs, global study tours, and foreign language acquisition. The program connects students with the contemporary art scene via gallery visits, exhibitions, international exchanges, guest artist talks, specialized workshops, and discussions at The Whitworth.
Career Opportunities
Fine Art alumni have established thriving careers as professional artists, showcasing their work internationally in public exhibitions and private collections. Graduates also pursue diverse roles such as curators, gallery staff, art technicians, educators, event coordinators, and studio directors.

T level - We welcome applications from students undertaking T level qualifications. Eligible applicants will be asked to achieve a minimum overall grade of Merit as a condition of offer
IB Diploma - Pass overall with a minimum overall score of 26 or minimum 104 UCAS Tariff points from three Higher Level subjects
Other Level 3 qualifications equivalent to GCE A level are also considered. 
A maximum of three A level-equivalent qualifications will be accepted towards meeting the UCAS tariff requirement. 
AS levels, or qualifications equivalent to AS level, are not accepted. The Extended Project qualification (EPQ) may be accepted towards entry, in conjunction with two A-level equivalent qualifications.
