The MA in Multimedia Journalism (Broadcast) offers an intensive, hands-on program that develops versatile broadcast journalists. This comprehensive course provides expertise across various multimedia disciplines, teaching essential skills including news collection, on-location reporting, production techniques, and vocal presentation – all supported by solid knowledge of media legislation, ethics, and industry standards. Recognized by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC), the program mirrors the fast-paced reality of modern broadcasting. Whether your interest lies in news reporting, investigative pieces, or cultural programming, you'll learn to craft distinctive stories and source original content. Training occurs in cutting-edge television, radio, and podcast facilities, with simulated news events and real-world projects evaluated by media experts. Your culminating work will be a television/radio documentary or digital feature series. The program offers an ideal location balance: while primarily based at our advanced Harrow media center, you'll also access central London campuses and report on stories throughout the capital. A primary focus is launching your broadcast journalism career, with extensive support for professional development. Learn from instructors with BBC, Sky, and other major media backgrounds, and present your work on our acclaimed Smoke Radio station. The mandatory two-week media internship provides crucial industry experience, from contacting organizations to applying your skills professionally. Course accreditationThis program holds accreditation from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC). CareersDesigned for broadcast journalism careers, this course delivers technical abilities and practical experience in television, audio, and digital reporting. Alumni work as journalists and content creators in roles including editing, reporting, production, and freelance work. Qualification Requirements

A minimum of an upper second class honours degree (2:1). Applicants who don’t meet the minimum criteria, but have relevant work experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants are required to include a link to one sample of their own published work in their personal statement. This could be a sample of writing (in English), video or audio output (e.g. a blog post, a published news article, YouTube video or similar). If your first language is not English you should have an IELTS 7.0 overall with minimum 6.5 in each element. TOEFL 92 overall with a minimum of 20 in Listening, 24 in Writing, 19 in Reading and 20 in Speaking.
