Midwives are independent healthcare professionals who offer comprehensive care and assistance to expectant parents and their families throughout pregnancy, delivery, and the initial postpartum phase. As integral members of healthcare teams, they work across various settings including birthing centers, community clinics, and hospitals, helping families achieve fulfilling childbirth experiences. This fast-paced, challenging yet deeply gratifying profession carries significant accountability. The BSc(Hons) Midwifery program holds Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) accreditation, enabling graduates to register as qualified midwives. Developed in collaboration with clinical partners and maternity service users, the curriculum delivers a genuine, patient-focused education that equips students with the knowledge and skills to practice midwifery with competence, empathy, and excellence. Emphasizing hands-on learning, approximately 50% of the program involves clinical placements under the guidance of experienced midwifery mentors.
