This adaptable degree program enables you to pursue two or three languages and cultures at an advanced level. In addition to language studies, you can specialize in the culture of one or more languages while exploring interdisciplinary cultural modules.

The program offers two distinct pathways:
Pathway one involves studying two languages, a cultural module in your primary language, plus an additional cultural module from the School's offerings.
Pathway two consists of three languages, with a cross-School cultural module in your first year.

For pathway one, your primary language options include: French, German, Italian, or Spanish. Secondary language choices are: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, or Spanish. Your studies will be equally divided between language acquisition (50%) and cultural modules (50%) focused on your primary language or other School offerings.
Pathway two allows selection of two languages from: French, German, Italian, or Spanish, plus a third language from: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, or Spanish. This route dedicates 75% of your time to language learning and 25% to cultural studies related to your chosen languages.
The School of Modern Languages and Cultures provides extensive cultural module options available for both pathways. Typically, you'll spend your second or third year abroad to strengthen your language proficiency.
