Our faculty consists of theatre practitioners, performance creators, drama scholars, and performance studies experts. They specialize in varied cross-disciplinary methods for examining drama, theatre, and performance. We encourage applications featuring practice-based research initiatives along with historical, analytical, and theoretical examinations of these study areas: modern performance techniques and avant-garde theatre, posthuman performance, ethical dimensions of theatre, Live Art, visual arts and somatic practices, LGBTQ+ and gender-focused performance, dance and choreography, performance in mass culture, modern theatrical direction, interdisciplinary connections (such as between performance and music), Renaissance drama in contemporary stagings, and acting education methodologies.

Qualification Requirements
Degree requirements: You’re normally expected to have a Merit (an average of 60% overall) in a master’s degree. Subject-specific requirements: Your Masters-level qualification should be in a drama-related subject or a subject relevant to your chosen area of research. You should also show evidence of substantial research and/or evidence of professional performance-related experience. Your undergraduate degree-level qualification should be in drama, performance, or theatre studies. You may also be considered for the degree if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic) Advanced level (7.0 overall, including at least 6.5 in each component); TOEFL (iBT) - Advanced level 95 overall, including at least 22 in Listening, 23 in Reading, 23 in Speaking, 24 in Writing.
