With access to supercomputers and international observatories, whether your focus is theoretical astronomy or observational projects, you'll utilize cutting-edge resources, global partnerships, and a blend of theoretical, computational, and observational methods. Pursue either a PhD or MPhil degree - the PhD involves creating significant new knowledge in your field, while the MPhil consists of independent research with a narrower scope. Upon completing the MPhil, you'll earn a Master of Philosophy title, with potential opportunities to transition to a PhD program during your studies.

Qualification Requirements

Youre normally expected to have a Merit (an average of 60% overall) in a Masters degree OR an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree.

Subject-specific requirements
Your qualification should be in a relevant subject such as physics, astronomy or mathematics. You may also be considered for the degree if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.

IELTS (Academic) - Standard level (6.0 overall, including at least 6.0 in each component).
TOEFL (iBT) - 80 overall, including at least 19 in Listening, 19 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, 21 in Writing.
