The extragalactic astrophysics team focuses on multiple crucial research domains in galaxy formation and evolution. Our work encompasses galaxy simulations, observational analyses of star systems, interstellar matter, and active galactic nuclei, along with quasars as indicators of cosmic large-scale structures. For computational modeling, we employ both local and external supercomputing resources, while observational studies leverage data from diverse terrestrial telescopes and space observatories across all wavelengths. Conducted primarily at UCLan's Jeremiah Horrocks Institute while collaborating with global research networks, we contribute to the international scientific pursuit of understanding galactic origins and structures—the fundamental components of our cosmos.
