The program focuses on advancing the latest technologies in video quality perception and applying computer vision and artificial intelligence. Our faculty members possess world-class expertise in multimedia transmission, quality assessment, computer vision, and AI. We frequently partner with other university research centers, with past collaborations contributing to standardization efforts. Our state-of-the-art research facilities feature: High-performance GPU computing and advanced capture capabilities. The Innovative Media Technology PhD equips students for success throughout their research journey. The program structure offers rigorous graduate training for future careers, accommodating both part-time and full-time candidates. Full-time PhD studies typically span three years (approximately 33-48 months), while part-time study usually takes six years (45-96 months). Graduation requires submitting a thesis and completing an oral viva with external examiners. Students initiate their projects with an extensive literature review in relevant fields, producing a critical analytical report. This report's findings will guide subsequent experimental research designed to test hypotheses developed from the literature review.
