You can pursue an MPhil or MRes degree in one year, or complete a PhD program spanning three years. Our institution offers postgraduate research opportunities across all research groups: Applied Analysis, Continuum Mechanics & Industrial Mathematics, Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing, Population Modelling & Epidemiology, and Stochastic Analysis. The MRes program is available in Mathematical Sciences. Mathematics and statistics form the foundation of all scientific and engineering fields, and we are globally recognized for our expertise in modeling and analytical approaches to address industry, business, and societal challenges. We collaborate with academic researchers from various disciplines, as well as partners from industry, business, and government sectors throughout the UK, Europe, China, and the United States.

Cutting-edge research in smart and nano-materials technologies utilizes computational models that raise essential mathematical questions (existence, well-posedness, stability, solution properties) within Applied Analysis. Our group's specialization in spectral analysis, coagulation-fragmentation equations, and homogenization theory has contributed to numerical and experimental research at the AFRC, including an industrial internship with Procter & Gamble focused on spray-drying modeling. Additionally, our expertise in network modeling supports advancements in Mathematical Ecology.
