You'll become part of a vibrant research community that collaborates with policymakers, NGOs, and governments across the globe. Domestically, we partner with UK government bodies including the Department for Work and Pensions and the Office for National Statistics. Internationally, we collaborate with organizations like the World Health Organization, UNFPA, DFID, and the United Nations. Experienced supervisors will offer personalized guidance while you benefit from our strengths in quantitative analysis, measurement techniques, and research methodologies. Your education will encompass both theoretical foundations of social science research and hands-on fieldwork experience.

You should have a 2:1 honours undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification. You can also apply if your grade was lower than 2:1 youll need to show youve made good progress since your degree.
If you have completed a master's degree, you should have achieved a merit or above including 60%, for the dissertation. If you have not completed a master's, youll need to show you can produce high quality writing and analysis.
We'll also invite your for interview.
If English is not your first language, you'll need an IELTS minimum level of 6.5 with a 6.0 in writing, reading, speaking and listening.
Your awarded certificate needs to be dated within the last 2 years.
If you need further English language tuition before starting your degree, you can apply for one of our pre-sessional English language courses.
