Our PhD in Biostatistics is an intensive research program offered by the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Our biostatistics faculty conducts cutting-edge research across diverse statistical methodologies, including survival analysis, longitudinal studies, Bayesian approaches, biological/behavioral data interpretation, and spatial statistics. Collaborative opportunities span clinical trials, genetics, infectious disease modeling, and data visualization – we encourage prospective students to explore additional research possibilities with our department.
Through partnerships with the School of Life Sciences, School of Health and Social Care, and Institute for Social and Economic Research, you'll gain access to interdisciplinary research projects.
Our alumni have secured academic positions at prestigious global institutions including Cambridge and Nottingham universities, while others continue contributing to Essex University as postdoctoral researchers, lecturers, or research impact specialists.
