Our institution hosts prestigious, globally recognized research centers specializing in energy, aerospace, fluid dynamics, and materials science. We focus on generating groundbreaking knowledge and transforming these discoveries into future technologies. The Department's research, education, and industry collaborations are supported by cutting-edge laboratories and regional access to a 3,500-node supercomputing facility. PhD programs are available as three-year studies. Students can pursue either degree within any of our specialized research groups: Energy, Aerospace, Fluids, or Materials. Our Research Our award-winning, internationally acclaimed research centers in energy, aerospace, fluid dynamics, and materials science drive our investigations. We utilize mechanical and aerospace engineering (MAE) expertise to address real-world industrial and societal challenges. Our research initiatives have produced innovations ranging from marine turbines for renewable energy to advanced lightweight materials for transportation efficiency, all supported by our world-class laboratory facilities.
Normally a first or second-class Honours degree from a UK university or equivalent.
IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)
TOEFL (ibt): 80 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component: Listening: 17 Reading: 18 Speaking: 20 Writing: 18.
