Pursuing a doctoral degree in French allows you to leverage our global collaborations and extensive expertise in Francophone Studies, with particular focus on Africa, Canada/Quebec, and mainland France. These research concentrations converge in our renowned Film Studies program, where we assemble more experts covering more French-speaking regions than any other French Studies department worldwide.
Doctoral candidates in the Arts and Humanities Faculty enjoy exclusive access to specialized research resources and can participate in various academic seminars and workshops, both within dedicated research centers and through interdisciplinary collaborations. Students also benefit from comprehensive training programs offered at multiple levels - University-wide, Faculty-specific, and Division-focused - including specialized instruction through postgraduate research seminars and other academic forums.
