Our Secondary Computer Science PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) provides practical teaching experience through placements while deepening your understanding of the secondary curriculum through campus-based learning. This program is tailored to equip you with effective strategies for engaging secondary students in computer science education. Upon successful completion, you'll receive a recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), qualifying you to teach nationwide.
This one-year Secondary Computer Science PGCE runs from September through June. The school-centered program begins with an orientation before placements and features weekly university sessions focusing on curriculum knowledge and teaching methodologies. Additionally, you'll complete 20 Intensive Training and Practice (ITaP) days concentrating on core teaching competencies to enhance classroom performance.
