As an elementary educator, you'll play a vital role in motivating young learners, equipping them with foundational skills for life, and creating engaging educational experiences.
This program is structured to help you grasp children's learning processes while building essential teaching competencies to provide students with a strong foundation.
During your training, you'll gain practical classroom experience through placements, participate in professional development seminars, and attend curriculum-focused workshops.
From maximizing your orientation period to guidance on delivering your inaugural class, your dedicated tutor will offer continuous support throughout your Primary PGCE program.
Our Primary PGCE spans 36 weeks, with 12 weeks of on-campus study. This includes an orientation week to prepare for placements and curriculum-focused sessions. For hands-on experience, you'll complete at least 120 days in two nearby schools, gradually progressing from classroom observation and small group assistance to co-teaching before leading classes independently.
Career Prospects
Earning your PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) prepares you to teach in English primary schools. Most alumni secure teaching positions shortly after qualifying, often within our partner schools. Following this course, you can pursue our Masters in Education program, with your PGCE credits allowing accelerated completion by your second teaching year.
