This program offers advanced, research-focused study of Persian and Spanish, enabling students to explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, promoting curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and rigorous scholarship. Spanning 48 months, the course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits total—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years feature core program-specific modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). The final years provide specialized, research-driven instruction through tailored program modules. The first two years combine mandatory courses with optional selections (potentially from other Faculties), while subsequent years focus on advanced, program-specific research learning.
