This program offers an in-depth exploration of Modern Languages (Italian and Spanish) and Greek at an advanced, research-focused level, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge is developed, expanded, and revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and rigorous scholarship. Spanning 60 months, the curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 540 credits over the duration, typically earning 120 credits per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific modules with elective options, occasionally including interdisciplinary courses from other Faculties. Subsequent years focus on specialized, research-driven modules tailored to the program's advanced curriculum. The first two years blend core program modules with diverse electives, potentially incorporating cross-disciplinary studies, while later years emphasize advanced, program-specific research-oriented coursework.
