This program offers advanced study in Modern Languages (Arabic and Russian) alongside English, focusing on research-driven learning where students explore how knowledge evolves and expands. Participants will develop skills in independent study, characterized by curiosity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits (typically 120 per year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections. The final years emphasize specialized, research-oriented study through tailored modules. The first two years blend core subjects with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while subsequent years focus on advanced, program-specific research learning.
