This program offers advanced study of German, Russian, and Spanish through research-focused coursework, enabling students to explore how knowledge evolves and expands. Participants will develop skills in independent learning, characterized by curiosity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits (typically 120 per year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, potentially including interdisciplinary offerings. The final years focus on specialized, research-driven modules tailored to the program's academic objectives. The first two years blend core requirements with diverse electives (sometimes from other faculties), while the latter years emphasize advanced, discipline-specific research learning.
