The Combined Honours program allows you to pursue two academic disciplines simultaneously, giving you access to excellent instruction across multiple fields. English Studies: As a foundational humanities subject, English examines how literature shapes and reflects human existence. This contemporary academic field focuses on literary works and their linguistic foundations. English students explore diverse literary eras and genres while developing analytical techniques informed by history, sociology, and political science. The program cultivates advanced critical analysis and communication abilities - skills that employers particularly value in humanities graduates. At our Manchester location, English students benefit from connections to the prestigious Manchester Writing School, home to world-class authors and literary scholars. The program is led by Poet Laureate Professor Carol Ann Duffy DBE. You'll acquire vital analytical and expressive competencies applicable to numerous professional fields.
