This program offers advanced, research-focused study in Geography and Middle East Studies, where students explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and refreshed. It fosters independent learning, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, it leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The first two years combine core program-specific modules with optional courses (sometimes from other Faculties), while the later years focus on specialized, research-driven modules.
