This program offers an in-depth exploration of Middle East Studies and Spanish through research-focused instruction, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge is developed, expanded, and revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). Subsequent years focus on specialized, research-driven modules tailored to the program. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse electives (potentially spanning multiple Faculties), while later years emphasize advanced, program-specific research learning.
