This program offers advanced, research-focused study of Arabic, Italian, and Persian, enabling students to explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years feature core program modules alongside elective options, sometimes including interdisciplinary courses. The final years provide specialized, research-driven instruction through program-specific advanced modules. The first two years combine mandatory program courses with selected electives (potentially from other faculties), while the latter years focus on tailored, research-oriented advanced studies.
