This program offers advanced, research-focused study of Arabic, German, and Persian, enabling students to explore how knowledge evolves and advances. Participants will develop skills in independent learning, characterized by curiosity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific modules with elective options, potentially including cross-faculty courses. The final years focus on specialized, research-driven modules that deepen subject expertise. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse electives (sometimes from other faculties), while the latter years emphasize advanced, discipline-specific research learning.
