You'll receive support from globally recognized supervisors specializing in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and operational research. They'll offer expert guidance and connect you with advanced training opportunities. Our program provides extensive training options, including access to specialized postgraduate courses and three national training networks: MAGIC for mathematics, NATCOR for operational research, and APTS for statistics. You'll be expected to engage in research seminars, discussions, and conferences. Each student receives a personal computer, shared office space, and funding for conference attendance. Our graduates are in high demand among universities, corporations, NGOs, and governments globally, thanks to our faculty's strong industry connections. We maintain collaborative relationships with statisticians and stochastic modelers throughout the university, particularly within the Social Statistics and Demography Division. The S3RI Statistics Seminars, open to all, are regularly held - check the S3RI Statistics Seminars calendar for details. As a founding member of APTS, Southampton University actively participates in this national advanced statistics training program through faculty contributions.
