Pursue your passion for ancient civilizations while developing expertise in specific areas of interest. Our program provides a dynamic, encouraging, and productive academic setting for your research. You'll examine ancient societies and discover the roots of contemporary life. Spend a year studying ancient history overseas to immerse yourself in different cultures and broaden your worldview. As an interdisciplinary subject, ancient history allows you to focus on familiar interests or venture into new territories. Select from diverse subjects spanning from Egyptian antiquity to the emergence of Islam, or investigate pivotal moments like Alexander the Great's campaigns and the fall of Rome. Your third year includes international study at partner institutions across Europe, North America, Asia, or Australia.
The BA Ancient History with Year Abroad program enables you to:
learn from specialists across multiple disciplines (history, archaeology, classical and modern languages, philosophy, and media studies)
participate in archaeological excavations and educational trips
hone your academic research and thesis-writing abilities
study classical languages including Latin and Ancient Greek
