The HCPC-recognized and BPS-accredited Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology stands as Wales' pioneering program, providing instruction in three therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy, Integrative Psychotherapy, and Systemic Practice. Grounded in Relational and Pluralist principles with an emphasis on social equity, the DPsych program combines practitioner training with doctoral-level research on pertinent topics. Students will fulfill 450 supervised clinical hours as part of this doctorate. Graduates qualify for HCPC registration and BPS Chartered status. USW's School of Psychology and Therapeutic Studies, serving as a regional center for counseling education, offers ideal training conditions through its combined strengths in psychology instruction and counseling research. The program benefits from practicing Counseling Psychologists who contribute specialized knowledge across diverse professional settings.
