The Department of Germanic Studies boasts a rich heritage of academic excellence in German, while also standing as a premier institution for Dutch Studies. Additionally, we're proud to host the globe's sole Centre for Luxembourg Studies.

While focusing on the Netherlands, we also examine Flanders and extend our gaze to post-colonial Dutch-speaking territories worldwide. Numerous faculty members operate multilingually, examining Germanic materials through comparative, international frameworks.
