This program is collaboratively delivered with members of the Nuclear Technology Education Consortium (NTEC). Gain knowledge from globally renowned scholars in the critical field of nuclear waste management, decommissioning, and environmental remediation.
The course operates in collaboration with partner institutions within the Nuclear Technology Education Consortium (with Sheffield serving as a primary partner alongside Manchester and Liverpool), providing exposure to over 90% of the UK's academic specialists in nuclear waste stabilization, decommissioning, and site restoration.

Students will work within the department's internationally recognized NucleUS Immobilization Science Laboratory, completing eight modules covering the nuclear fuel cycle. Key subjects include Decommissioning Processes, Nuclear Technology Applications, and Environmental Safety. Each module features a residential week at one of our consortium universities.

Minimum 2:2 undergraduate honours degree in materials, a physical science (chemistry or physics) or a related engineering subject.
