Our MBiolSci program provides an ideal foundation for careers in both industrial and academic research. The initial three years mirror our BSc curriculum, followed by a dedicated fourth year focused on an extensive research project conducted either in industry or alongside our renowned academic researchers.

Our biochemistry programs form the foundation of contemporary bioscience, enabling you to explore biological systems at their molecular foundation.

You'll examine proteins, enzymes, hormones, and receptors throughout your studies. Importantly, you'll also discover how biochemistry addresses critical global issues, from sustainable food production to healthy aging and pharmaceutical development. Alongside these fundamental biochemistry concepts, you'll encounter advanced topics in genetics, microbiology, and plant sciences.

Starting in your first year, you'll take courses covering the molecular biosciences spectrum. These are complemented by the flexibility to explore related fields like biomedicine, ecology, plant science, and zoology. This adaptable approach lets you specialize in biochemistry, maintain broad interests, or even transition to other bioscience degrees.

Regardless of your chosen modules, you'll acquire valuable laboratory techniques and transferable skills that employers value, including project management, analytical thinking, communication abilities, and data interpretation.

You'll have numerous chances to implement your learning. Laboratory work will include practical sessions in molecular genetics, DNA techniques, and protein analysis. You'll utilize advanced equipment for specialized research projects in fields like clinical diagnostics or fermentation technology.

Whether you specialize in biochemistry or explore diverse molecular bioscience topics, your personal tutor will help customize your degree to align with your interests and professional aspirations.
