East Asian Studies provides diverse module options spanning humanities and social sciences, led by scholars conducting pioneering research in fields like anthropology, history, film, media studies, literature, and political science. You can study Chinese, Japanese, or Korean at a pace that suits you.
This three-year program adopts a transnational perspective, equipping you to work across the region. During your final year, you'll synthesize your learning by developing a dissertation on a chosen topic with guidance from globally recognized experts.
Focusing on China, Japan, or Korea prepares you for opportunities in the world's fastest-growing region. European career prospects also abound for those skilled in Asian languages and cultures.
Our alumni pursue careers in government, diplomacy, media, arts, NGOs, and international business—spanning roles from management consulting and accounting to marketing, research, language instruction, and translation.
